Advertising Manager

Role Purpose

The Advertising Manager leads the development of advertising campaigns, including the development of advertising strategy, creative and media development across multiple lines of business. 

Primary Responsibilities

The Advertising Manager will:

Be the advertising voice at the table for planning and business unit partners

Be responsible for the development of the advertising strategy, working with marketing planning to translate the kick off document into the creative brief

Lead and manage advertising projects on behalf of planning and business units, working with creative and media agencies as well as other Marcom partners

Direct creative agency partners in the development of creative ideas, helping to critique and guide creative work to better align to the strategic needs of the bank. Execution of creative concepts to get them in market

Work with media agency partner to provide a media brief, budget to engage in the development of a media plan and the subsequent execution of the media plan

Manage and process all advertising and media estimates and invoices while keeping campaigns on budget

Effective project management, to keep the campaign on time, on budget, engage partners in timely manner for input and approvals, to ensure we stay on track for in market.

Partner with research teams to test, track and interpret advertising research

Build and maintain close working relationships with key business partners to understand and influence business strategies, priorities and direction, ensuring business objectives can be converted into effective marketing plans/customer strategies

Ensure creative campaigns and offers make most efficient use of available advertising dollars

Other key areas of accountability will be:

Project Management:

Deliver, manage and execute Advertising Plans and customer-centric programs, using established processes, tracking key milestones and executing detailed and meaningful post implementation reviews

Ensure a high level of service by setting clear standards and communicating status regularly with respective business partners and project team members

Manage on-going relationships with the business units and coordinate support from key internal advertising resources to ensure effective execution of creative deliverables

Manage the annual advertising budgets adjusting strategies and tactics when needed to ensure spending levels are within budget.  and forecast quarterly spending

Actively work to resolve escalated issues effectively and manage any changes within projects

Conduct project reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of programs, ensuring budgets are reconciled, stated goals are achieved and learning is actionable, well-documented, and shared

Expert Knowledge:

Be recognized as an internal advertising expert

Keep abreast of emerging capabilities and/or consumer trends within the advertising industry

Teamwork and Leadership:

Build and maintain positive working relationships by effectively communicating and regularly sharing information, learning and knowledge with internal and external business partners

Contribute to people development within TDBFG advertising team

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

Our successful candidate will have/be:

A minimum 5 years experience in advertising

Subject matter expertise in media, including TV, print, radio and out of home

Excellent project management skills with demonstrated success in on-time delivery, on budget, and approval management

Strong communication skills, able to work well with Agency/Marcom partners and selling creative and media plans

Past experience with and successes in major advertising campaigns, either from agency or client vantage

An effective judge of creative work, from concept to execution

Able to strike a balance between problem solving and thinking strategically, creatively and ensuring effective execution

Be proactive with opinion, solutions and creativity and a strong voice with an ability to sell

Compensation

Base will be competitive

Bonus plan target percentage is 12% of earnings (note: pro-rated on start date based on bank fiscal)

Possible multiplier for performance
